Kaleidoscopic images are used to emulate the distortion and inaccuracy of memory. Inks applied to knitted fabrics reflect the pixels viewed through the kaleidoscope. By applying water the coloured dyes split, spread and merge in a way reminiscent of the chromatography process. The dyed fabrics are unravelled and re-knit, allowing the colours to disperse across the pieces.

Eleanor’s work is inspired by colour dispersion, enlarged pixels and kaleidoscopic distortion.
