My photographic practice revolves around the notion of space, dereliction and architecture, whilst exploring elements of human trace and presence. I choose locations that show evidence of past human activity or the effects of neglect. I am interested in the way that buildings fall into disrepair as a result of human absence. As well as digital, I also use film photography (35mm and medium format), as both mediums offer different qualities which complement the various subject matters. Photographs present in the exhibition, are silver based C-type prints onto Fuji Matt paper. My photography adheres to strong structural compositions, made up of dominant geometric shapes and symmetry. I attempt to source scenes of an unsightly or mundane nature and reproduce them in an appealing and engaging way.
